German version of “Spitting Image” on Sky: 16th September “Krauts’ Edition”

The rubber Ronald Reagan accidentally presses the nuclear button at the end: The music video for “Land of Confusion” by Genesis made the puppets of the British satirical programme “Spitting Image” world famous 35 years ago. From next Thursday (16), the return of the puppets can now be experienced in the “Krauts’ Edition” on Sky. Nine episodes of about 20 minutes each and a best-of are planned for Thursdays.
The sketches will be written and recorded in Cologne and then performed in a London studio. With puppets that have been specially handmade ifor the new German series.
“Sharp-tongued, sarcastic, crude and also polarising, the format takes everyone for a ride and no one seriously,” says Sky Deutschland. For the first time, another country is working together with the real “Spitting Image” makers in Great Britain, so it is the “first international version of the comedy format”.
