The Village of Mondsee

Is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding. Situated a short distance from the famous City of Salzburg (home to the music of Mozart) Mondsee is a beautiful lakeside village.

According to opinion, the name Mondsee has its roots in Mythology, whereby the early settlers worshipped the moon as a god. A more unlikely explanation is that the name relates to the shape of the lake being similar to that of the moon.

Preparation and Organisation

To help us organise your dream Wedding, we invite you to visit us here in Mondsee. We will take you on a tour, to help you get to know the beautiful and romantic region, of the Salzkammergut. Afterwards, during a relaxing dinner, we will discuss and plan the all important details of your wedding.

The legal requirements:

We will keep you informed continuously about which administrative procedures are to be followed and by when, such as the submission of Certificates and Documents (Translations) for your Wedding Certificate.

Invitations

Once we receive your guest list we will organise everything relating to invitations:

- Design of the Invitation

- Sending the invitations to your guests

- Processing the replies (registrations)

- Processing flight and accommodation bookings (for those arriving by car, a map will be supplied) - Incorporating any special requests by your guests

- Providing you with a final guest attendance list

Wedding Gift list

- Once you have identified where your guests can purchase the gifts you most desire, we can begin to prepare the personal invitations.

Flights / Coach transfers

We will organise your guest¹s arrival by air and coach transfer. Specially trained hostesses will meet your guests at the airport and accompany them in the coach all the way to their hotel in Mondsee. During the coach transfer, the guests will be told about the history and culture of the region. As they arrive in Mondsee, your guests will be received with specially prepared "Welcome banners"

Registration and Champagne Welcoming Ceremony

At Mondsee Castle, the hostesses will present your guests with a personal welcoming envelope containing precise information about the Hotel, maps of the area and a program of events. If requested, the guests can also be given specially printed "Bank notes" for their stay in Mondsee.

Unique to "Rent a Village for your Wedding", is the handing over of a symbolic "Key to the Village" by the Mayor of Mondsee during a Champagne reception to the sounds of a brass band from the region.

Accommodation

After the welcome ceremony your guests will be shown to their hotels. If you require, we can place special welcome gifts in their rooms. The guests will then have time to rest and refresh themselves before preparing for the evening¹s events.

Photography and Film crews

To ensure that the most beautiful day in your life and the weekend festival with your friends remains unforgettable, our Photographer (or Film crew on request) will capture all the best moments and, if required to do so, compile a beautiful high quality Album.

Evening events

Following the example of the VON TRAPP family ('Sound of Music¹), who also travelled through Mondsee, we have arranged a most unusual Austrian evening. Your guests will be enchanted by a very special evening atmosphere at the at Pilerhof in Mondsee. with rustic decoration and music to match will enthral your guests

Flowers

According to your personal taste, we will organise the flowers for your Bridal Bouquet and the floral decoration in the church and at the reception venue.

The Day of the Wedding

You and your guests enjoy breakfast at your hotels. We will be glad to coordinate appointments at beauty Salons and hairdressers for you and your guests.

Later, the guests will be collected from their hotels by luxury coach and taken to the Church for the wedding ceremony. For the Bride and Groom there are different options to choose from, such as Horse drawn carriages, Oltimers or stretched Limos.

The Wedding Ceremony

Your individual wishes will gladly be incorporated into the wedding ceremony. (Music, decoration, texts etc) Thereafter, snacks and Champaign will be served, while the guests bestow the first congratulations upon the wedding couple. On request, music can also be arranged.

Wedding Feast

Is held in the exclusive Parkhotel and a wonderful gourmet meal prepared by top[ class chefs awaits you and your guests. Whether you prefer International or local cuisine, there are endless options for you to choose from. The Wedding Cake of your choice is our gift to you.

The Wedding Event

For every taste and for every occasion (Welcome, Austrian evening, Church, Reception...) we will arrange ideally suited musical accompaniment. We will also be glad to organise artists, dancing and entertainment for the wedding reception.

Sunday Brunch

To close your 'Rent a Village¹ for your Wedding Weekend", sit back and recount the memorable wedding moments once more during a splendid Sunday morning Brunch.
